Do I have a missed call problem?

Put in your own numbers. If you're booked out, or the calls you miss cost less than a tool would, the calculator says so. Plenty of owners don't need to fix anything.

Your answer shows here once you fill in the boxes. If it doesn't, use the formula below.

How to work out what missed calls cost you

Calls you miss in a week, times the share that were new work, times what a booking is worth, times 4.33 weeks in a month. That is the most a month of missed calls could be costing you.

How many missed callers go elsewhere varies by trade and town. In a 2025 survey of 1,000 US consumers by CallRail, a company that sells call tracking, 21% said they call another business right away when one doesn't answer, and 42% said they leave a voicemail. Use your own experience if you have it.

Two things shrink it. If you're booked out, you had no open time to sell, so the real cost is close to nothing. And some callers leave a message and wait for you, so the true number sits below the formula's answer.

What to do with your missed call number

If the cost is small, keep a clear voicemail greeting and a callback habit and check again when things get busier. If it's real money, start with what your phone and booking software can already do before you pay for anything new.

Questions owners ask

Why doesn't the calculator fill in average numbers?

Averages from software companies tend to make the problem look bigger than it is for you. Your own call log and your own prices give you an answer you can trust.

Where do I find how many calls I miss?

Your phone's recent calls list shows missed calls. Count a normal week, and leave out spam and calls from people you know.
