What do no shows cost you?

Count a normal week. The calculator gives your no show rate and what it costs you a month and a year at your own price, after the gaps you already fill.

Your answer shows here once you fill in the boxes. If it doesn't, use the formula below.

How to work out your no show rate and what it costs

Your no show rate is no shows divided by appointments booked. The monthly cost is no shows in a week, times your price, times 4.33 weeks in a month. Take off the share you refill. Multiply by 12 for the year.

Is my no show rate normal?

It depends on your work. A review of 105 studies put the average for healthcare appointments at about 23%, and a review of mental health services at about 20%. For salons, one booking platform, Booksy, reported about 1 to 2.4% across 15 US cities in 2021. Compare yourself with your own last few months first.

What to do if no shows cost too much

If the number is bigger than you'd like, start with the list of what works. Write a policy and send reminders first, because they cost the least.
